Weekly Round-Up # 6

1. So, first of all I got my hair cut! It was just too long, my spilt ends kept making massive tangles in my hair and my hair was so heavy that if I had my hair in a bun or a high ponytail, my scalp would hurt from the weight of it! I used this photo of Zooey Deschanel to let the hairdresser know how I wanted my fringe because her hair is beautiful. I'm really happy that I cut a good chunk off my hair because now my hair feels healthy and in good condition and I can run my fingers through it without getting in a huge mess of hair!
2. This week I have started to run out of patience with some of my group project work for uni. Do you ever get told to work with some people and you realise that there's just no common ground between the both of you? Seriously frustrating when you're trying to work with someone who is totally not on your wavelength.
3. The upstairs of my house has just been recarpeted so on Wednesday and Thursday the place looked like an utter bombsite, we had to condensce 4 rooms into 2. At one point I had 3 beds in my room! As we were moving the furniture I had a big clearout, I got rid of tons of clothes (my wardrobe looks so neat now!) and books that I had read and had no reason to keep them and just general clutter. Can't wait to go for a browse round Primark when I get paid next week! Although I have been well warned that I better not just replace the stuff that I threw out!
4. My finished product of the week this time round is Miss Sixty Elixir perfume. I've had this for ages and I really like the Miss Sixty perfumes even though they are aimed at teens but the price is very reasonable and they smell good so what's not to like? Elixir is a sultry but sweet scent with an oriental unertone which lasts quite a long time on the skin. I loved this perfume and I'm so sad that it seems to have been discontinued in Boots and other major perfume stores (why does this always happen to me?!). I have Miss Sixty Summer (which I cannot find online at all!) which is a lovely sweet and fresh scent and I wear it at least once a week. Finally I have Miss Sixty Rock Muse which I didn't really like at first, I thought it smelled a bit heavy and powdery like an "old lady" perfume but that dies away after a minute or two and it's just a really nice sultry frangrance.
I'll probably do a Perfume Collection post this week because I'm really into my perfume at the moment, for a while I actually used to forget about perfume in the whole getting ready process but now I like to match it to my mood or who I'm going to be meeting that day etc.
See you soon folks!

Review: The Body Shop Banana Shampoo & Conditioner

Hey guys! Been a while since I got down to some "real" blogging but I've planned out some posts for the next week, so you should see some more soon.

Anyway, lets get on to the review! I bought this shampoo and conditioner in October because I was looking for something different. My mum suggested The Body Shop's Banana Shampoo and Conditioner because she said that she used to use it all the time and it made your hair really soft.

I've used this shampoo and conditioner pretty much every time I washed my hair apart from a small spell around Christmas where I was using some different products, so these products last quite a while (I wash my hair every second day and use about a 50 pence sized amount of both each time, just for perspective!).

I know that some people would find the banana scent of the shampoo and conditioner a bit overpowering but I really like sweet, fruity smells. It doesn't scent your hair too much but during the day you get a lovely waft of banana when you swish your hair! I really like the shampoo for its cleansing properties, I know that some shampoos can build up in your hair and weigh it down but this one really cleans your hair, especially at the roots. The conditioner is super moisturising and would be good for dry/damaged hair. Also, the shop assistant mentioned that banana shampoo is meant to be really good for blonde hair so maybe it helped bring out my natural highlights, not that I noticed much difference in my colour.

I'll most likely re-purchse these products in the future because I love the smell but I like to switch-up my shampoo and conditioner just so my hair doesn't get used to it and it stops working.

Look out for more review videos and some FOTDs!

Weekly Round-Up # 5

This is how my weekend looked.

1. I have had such a boring/stressful week. I haven't done anything that doesn't either require me writing notes or reading a big dusty textbook. Roll on the Easter holidays when all this coursework will be out the way.

2. I fired through a whole lot of products this week which means I finished my Lacura Concealer, Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Cleansing and Toning Lotion, The Body Shop Banana Shampoo and Conditioner. So, not a bad job on getting rid of stuff! I'll do a review on the shampoo and conditioner but I already did a review of the toning lotion when I first got it and you can read that here.

3. I haven't been shopping in aaaaages! I'm really due a run round Primark haha! But this is down to the fact that I have been bombarded with so much reading and organising projects for uni and I'm trying to save money for all the trips I'm going on this year, totally can't wait to go to Rome at Easter, it'll be amazing I'm sure.

Anyway, this was pretty short but until next time, Adios!

Weekly Round-Up # 4

1. Well, Tuesday was Pancake Day and I made pretty good pancakes, if a little thin. I even flipped one! I think it's a bit of a weird day, surely it should just be called Eat-all-the-crap-in-the-world-before-Lent Day. I'm not giving anything up for Lent, I've decided I'm going to try to fit in a little bit of exercise a day, even if I can only manage some sit-ups or something, at least I'm doing it.
2. On Wednesday it was my Guinea Pigs' 1st birthday. I know, I'm sooo sad haha! But I do love the little guys so much. Their names are Archie and Basil and really are the cutest little (well, not so little anymore!) things ever.
3. Been feeling really down about uni recently. It seems that every time I come out a class I just feel deflated and discouraged. I've only got like 3 more months but I just feel no matter how hard I try, I never get anywhere. So, when I saw this, I was like "Yep, sounds good to me".
4. Went to see The Woman In Black on Friday and jees, that movie scared the living daylights out of me! I thought, "Its got Daniel Radcliffe in it, I like Daniel Radcliffe, surely it won't be too scary" but it soo is. I think this was a really good role for Dan after Harry Potter because it's such a different character from how we're used to seeing him. Well done, Dan!
5. Finished my Celia Birtwell Lipbalm that I've had for 2 and a half years (I know, long time!) so that can go on my list of hit-pan products, woo!
Hope you all had a good week :)

Wild Things

T-shirt - Topman / Shorts - Spain / Doc Martens - Gift

This was an outfit I wore last week but never got round to posting. This is one of my more "tomboy" outfits but sometimes I just like to be comfy! Getting really fed up of my frizzy hair! And these photos confirm it - I need to get it cut. Not sure how much to get off, or just to get it trimmed. Anyway, yes, I am wearing a guys t-shirt but does anyone else see loads of stuff they would wear in Topman? It's the same with Primark. Sometimes I think the mens department has more interesting clothes than the womens part. Or maybe I'm just different, haha!

Review: Lush Snow Fairy

So, last week I told you that I had finished my bottle of Snow Fairy shower gel, now I'm going to do my review!

I first smelled the Snow Fairy scent when my little sister bought the lipbalm and it just smelled amazing. It has a really sweet sugary scent (which could be a little sugary for some) with a light floral undertone. This shower gel lathers really well into big soft fluffy bubbles and makes your skin feel smooth and soft. Also the scent lingers on the skin all day and also makes the bathroom smell really nice.

Unfortunately, this product is only on sale at Christmas time but I've tried the Rock Star soap and I would say it smells quite similar to Snow Fairy, really sweet and sugary.

Weekly Round-Up # 3

Not a picture of me, but somewhere I would like to be.

1. I was absolutley right when I said I wouldn't have any spare time this week. As you can see I didn't have any time to post anything on here (sorry!) but my week has been jam packed!

2. On Tuesday I had a lovely Valentine's dinner with my boyfriend at Amore restaurant near where we live. Even though the place was packed out (with a huge queue of people waiting outside!) the food was delicious. We didn't do the whole "gifts" part of Valentine's day, we were quite happy just to go for a nice dinner, but he did get me a beautiful single rose. So sweet :)

3. On Wednesday I caught up with 2 of my girly friends for a couple of drinks. Cue a fun night of excessive drinking, talking about everything under the sun and ending with a bag of chips each on the way home = perfect. However I do not recommened drinking a whole pitcher of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Tea all by yourself. It does not improve your Spanish grammar for uni either, just fyi.

4. I finished another book on my Kindle this wee but this one wasn't a keeper. I think I only stuck with it to the end because I don't like giving up on things, once I start something I have to see it through. Anyway, The book was "This Lullaby" by Sarah Dessen. I think it was aimed at young adults which is usually fine for me, I know I'm a bit older than the target market but most times I enjoy them. It was a bit slow and didn't really do anything for me. I guess I thought it was going to be some big sweeping romance that I would get caught up in but it wasn't.

5. I finished another 2 products this week for my hitting pan challenge. The first was a Lush shower gel called Snow Fairy which I'm sure you've all heard of. I'll do a review of it during the week. The other was just a cheap Chamomile and Lemon Shampoo. Sure it brings out my natural highlights and gives my colour more dimension, but other than that I don't really have anything else to say about it.

6. And finally, this weekend was actually kind of fun. On Friday night we all went round to my aunt and uncle's house for a "Casino Night". Basically we just played card games for fun and eat absolutely delicious food. Yesterday I was off work (Yay!) so I went shopping with my little sister before I went to my boyfriend's cousin's 21st birthday party at night.

All in all, quite a busy week (with not nearly enough uni work done in that time!) and I'm done in! Hopefully next week won't be quite as mad but just as much fun.

Until next time, Adios!
