Barcelona 2011

Wow, bit of a picture heavy posts but these are just my holiday snaps from Barcelona. It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The architecture itself is breathtaking. I'm a massive fan of Gaudi's work so I was absolutely delighted to get to visit the places I had been writing about in art for years. My favourite is probably the Casa Batlló, the house with all the strange looking balconies and the paintwork that looks like scales. A very close second would be the Sagrada Familia. I think everyone knows what the Sagrada Familia looks like but it's only when you're standing right next to it that the huge size of the building overwhelms you completely. It is so detailed that I can't imagine how one man could have designed all of it. Definately something you must see before you die.

And I went to the Nou Camp, the massive football stadium, home to Barcelona Football Club. Now, I'm hardly a football fan, but I really enjoyed the stadium tour! It is absolutely huge!!! It must be crazy on match days, just think about all those people :0 And of course I got my picture taken with the best player in the world (I don't know anything about football but even I can see he's a genius) Messi :) Obviously not irl! Haha They stand you in front of a blue screen and ask you which player you would like to stand beside, then you put out your arm as if you actually have your arm round them and once they take the picture, they photoshop you in! I thought it was pretty cool anyway lol Anyway that's enough from me just now, I'll post photos of my wild girly holiday soon. (haha yes I went on 2 holidays: the first, a cultural, touristy city break in Barcelona, the second a sun, fun & booze holiday in Salou with my cousin lol)

Until next time,

Adios! x x x
